In our Quality Time Policy, we state that our products should be durable, functional and safe to use. But what does this really mean? Well first of all, few things are more environmental friendly than a durable product. A product that is handed down through generations or sold second-hand has hardly any affect on the environment compared to buying a new product.

No material has been produced, no chemicals have been added and there is hardly any extra freight. This is why we focus on designing products that are made to last. Our Greenland Jacket in G-1000 from 1968 and our Kånken Backpack from 1978 are just two of our many durable and functional products that have proven to withstand time, wear and tear.

This commitment to durability and functionality continues in all our products, from buttons to the very fibers we use in our fabric. Once our products are developed, they are put through the toughest tests in order to ensure that they will function in even the most demanding situations. “You should always feel safe when using a Fjällräven product”, says Martin Axelhed, General Manager at Fjällräven. “That is why we test our equipment ourselves during our yearly staff camps but also through professional test groups. These tests tell us if we need to change anything before you will use our products, but more often they give us inspiration for new products”.
